Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment - Greensburg Street
Wed. Oct 28th 2020

Station 64 (White Valley VFD) was dispatched by Westmoreland 911 at 2:53 PM for a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) with entrapment, vehicle into a structure, vehicle reported to be smoking on Greensburg Street within Station 30’s (Delmont’s) district. Rescue 64 went enroute with (4) firefighters on board and Service 64 with (3) firefighters on board. Portable 30 arrived on scene and reported one vehicle into a business with a patient trapped inside the vehicle. Chief 30 then arrived on scene and took command. When Rescue 64 arrived on scene, crews found a second vehicle in the Southbound lane of Route 66 that had sustained damage to the driver side. It was then found that this vehicle was part of the accident. Service 64 was then requested to respond to the business to assist the crews from Engine 30. When Service 64 arrived on scene crews were diverted to Route 66 Northbound to help shutdown all of Route 66 to clean the debris off the roadway. While clearing debris Mutual Aid Ambulance Service took care of patient care and transported the patient to a local trauma center. Once all debris was removed from the roadway crews then assisted with the removal of the vehicle. Once the vehicle was removed crews began to cleanup the business and assist with helping Salvage 63 with opening up the front walls to begin securing the business. Once the business was cleaned up all crews were released by command and put back in service.

Other responding companies were: White Valley FD, Delmont VFD, Claridge VFD, Mutual Aid Ambulance Service, and Delmont Police Department
