Station 64 (White Valley VFD) was dispatched by Westmoreland 911 at 11:05 AM for a single vehicle MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident) with entrapment within Station 20’s (Murrysville VFC) district on Sardis Road. Murrysville Police Department was first on scene and confirmed entrapment within the vehicle. Rescue 64 went enroute with (5) firefighters on board. Assistant 20 arrived on scene and established command followed by Rescue 20 and Rescue 78. The motor vehicle was traveling north on Sardis Road, when it had gone off the road jumping the guardrail, striking a tree, then landing on the guardrail. Crews stabilized the vehicle. Rescue 64 then arrived on scene and sent its manpower up to assist crews with patient extrication. Once the patient was extricated and transported to a local trauma center, crews from Rescue 64 then assisted with clean up operations on scene until released and returned in service by Command 20.
