Station 64 (White Valley VFD) was dispatched by Westmoreland 911 at 2:38 PM for a Brush Fire spreading quickly in a field on Blank Road within Station 63's (Claridge VFD) district. Attack 64 went enroute with (6) firefighters on board followed by Tanker 64 with (2) firefighters, and Service 64 with UTV 64 with (2) firefighters. Chief 63 arrived on scene and established command. While enroute firefighters were receiving updates that the fire was in an area of about 500x500 of the field. Once Attack 64 arrived on scene the Attack fed in a supply line to Engine 87 as crews worked to extinguish the fire. Tanker 64 arrived on scene and was directed into the field to assist with filling Engine 63 and Brush 9 with water, Tanker 64 would then switch out with Tanker 78 to refill. Crews from Attack 64 and Service 64 grabbed forestry rakes and managed to assist in breaking up the hot spots as other crews dowsed the area with water attempting to prevent the fire from reigniting and spreading to areas that were not affected. Once the fire was extinguished crews remained on scene dowsing the area with water. Once there was a sufficient amount of water and it was determined to be safe, Command 63 then released all crews and apparatuses to return back in service.
